SynergEV Inc, a US-based EV charging network and infrastructure development company, has announced that it has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with SK Signet Inc, the EV battery recharging equipment subsidiary of South Korea’s SK Group. The aim is to expand its EV charging network across North America and Latin America.

Texas-based SynergEV confirmed that the MOU establishes a strategic framework for collaboration, as the company prepares for its next phase of EV charging infrastructure growth. The two companies plan to “explore opportunities to align SK Signet’s advanced charging hardware with SynergEV’s deployment strategy, network operations, software capabilities, and commitment to creating a better charging experience for drivers.”

SynergEV said that the agreement represents an important step in its EV infrastructure growth strategy, adding that “as electric mobility continues to grow, drivers need charging that is not only available, but dependable, convenient, and built around real travel needs. SynergEV is preparing for that future with an approach centered on reliability, thoughtful deployment, and a more complete driver experience.”

The collaboration is expected to focus on several key areas, including ultra-fast charger deployment, software integration, operational testing, and potential financing programmes. The two companies also plan to “evaluate pilot opportunities within SynergEV’s developing infrastructure pipeline, allowing SK Signet’s technologies to be assessed in real-world operating environments as both companies consider broader deployment opportunities.”

SynergEV's founder and CEO, Paco Aguirre, said in a statement: “Signing this MOU with SK Signet is a significant milestone for SynergEV. SK Signet is recognized globally for high-quality EV charging technology, and this collaboration supports our vision for building charging infrastructure that drivers can trust. We are excited about what this agreement makes possible and look forward to sharing more about what comes next.”
