Chinese automaker Seres’ electric vehicle brand AITO has signed a cooperation agreement with Performance Plus Motors, a subsidiary of Abu Dhabi Motors (ADM).

The new distribution partnership will enable AITO to launch its operations in the UAE.

Under the deal, Performance Plus Motors will oversee sales, delivery and after-sales operations for AITO vehicles in the UAE, alongside plans to set up brand experience and service centres.

ADM will provide additional local support, including marketing activities, brand communications, collaboration on customer services, market intelligence and shared resources.

SERES AUTO Overseas BU president Jason Wang said: “Our collaboration with ADM is an important milestone in AITO’s globalization strategy and marks a new starting point for joint exploration of the luxury NEV market in the Middle East.

“ADM’s extensive experience and resources in the local luxury automotive market will provide strong support for AITO’s local operations.”

Seres said the arrangement follows the completion of local hardware and software modifications as well as regulatory approvals for AITO vehicles in the country.

Its flagship AITO 9 model has already begun user test drives in the UAE, with vehicles arriving at Dubai port ahead of the official launch.

ADM’s existing facilities and logistics network are expected to underpin vehicle deliveries and longer-term operations.

The automaker added that AITO has exceeded one million units in cumulative production over 46 months, while the AITO 9 has led China’s RMB 500,000-plus vehicle segment for 21 consecutive months.

According to Seres, the UAE rollout is part of AITO’s wider Middle East strategy, with plans to expand into neighbouring markets and grow its international footprint in the luxury intelligent new energy vehicle segment.

ADM CEO Syed Faiz Karim added: “We will leverage our channels, resources, and operational advantages to fully support AITO’s long-term development in the UAE market, explore new opportunities in the luxury NEV segment, and continuously deliver more innovative and luxurious mobility experiences.”
