Volkswagen has opened its orderbook for the new Touareg R eHybrid.
It is the flagship model for VW’s premium series, which the automaker says features the “most powerful drive system” of all its standard models.
The Touareg R eHybrid has a 3.0-litre, six-cylinder turbocharged engine and electric drive motor with a system output of 340 kW (462 PS) as well as torque of 700 Nm as standard.
Acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h takes 5.1 seconds and it can reach a top speed of 250 km/h.
The standard highlights of this model include a redesigned Innovision Cockpit and IQ.LIGHT HD matrix headlights. VW says more than 38,000 interactive LEDs project a light carpet ‘exactly onto the driving lane and illuminate the road more precisely than ever before’.
Optional Park Assist Pro allows remote-controlled driving in and out of parking spaces. It enables control of the process of driving in and out of parking spaces from a smartphone (via Volkswagen App) and can also be used in very tight parking spaces.

Prices start from €93,870 in Germany.
