Japanese automaker Nissan Motor Company reported a 7.4% drop in global sales to 245,601 vehicles in February 2026, including models sold under the Nissan and Infiniti brands, with sales in Japan slightly higher at 41,362 units, while overseas sales fell by almost 9% to 204,239 units.

In the first two months of the year, the group’s global sales increased by 0.4% to 518,383 units, with sales in Japan down by 5.2% to 76,649 units, while overseas sales declined by 3.2% to 421,645 units. Sales in China declined by 2% to 75,424 units in this period, while sales in North America rose by 1.3% to 218,047 units, including a slight increase in US sales to 157,741 units and an almost 8% rise in Mexico to 45,180 units. Deliveries in Europe plunged by 25% to 44,911 units, and in other markets volumes were down by almost 6% to 78,673 units.

Global production declined by 11% to 428,203 units year-to-date, with output in Japan falling by 7.3% to 96,705 units, while overseas volumes declined by over 12% to 331,498 units. Output in the US rose by over 14% to 94,741 units, while UK output was up by 5% to 50,838 units. This was offset by a 32% drop in Mexico to 82,329 units, as the automaker restructured its regional production following the introduction of import tariffs in the US last year, while output in other countries combined fell by over 23% to 41,114 units.

Exports from Japan rose by 17% to 61,943 units in the two-month period, with shipments to North America rising by 16% to 28,444 units, while exports to other markets rose by over 19% to 33,499 units.
