AI-powered Integrated Operations Platform, Motive, has introduced Positive Driving, designed to detect positive driver behaviours.

Positive Driving aims to enhance safety culture within fleet operations by automatically identifying commendable actions such as swift responses to hurdles to prevent collisions and maintaining safe distances, especially when another vehicle abruptly merges into the lane.

These insights are crucial for managers to conduct coaching sessions that not only focus on safety but also acknowledge and motivate drivers.

Positive Driving leverages advanced AI to automatically pinpoint smart driving behaviours, which are then swiftly validated by Motive's safety team.

The AI model, which is now available globally, offers a comprehensive view of driver performance by complementing the company’s existing unsafe behaviour detection.

The insights available on the Motive Dashboard include Alert Driving, which recognises quick reactions to unexpected obstacles, and Safe Distancing, which detects the creation of a safe following distance after being cut off.

Motive noted that the model redefines the use of AI Dashcams in fleet operations by automating the process of identifying and celebrating safe driving.

This eliminates the need for manual review of trip footage, allowing managers to focus on reinforcing positive behaviours at scale.

Motive chief product officer Hemant Banavar said: “With Positive Driving, we’re giving companies an easy way to recognise excellence on the road in order to build trust and increase employee engagement.

“By automatically surfacing the moments that matter, Positive Driving turns everyday decisions into powerful coaching opportunities that lead to safer fleets and stronger teams.”

Last month, the company announced the acquisition of InceptEV, a software start-up specialising in advanced battery intelligence.

The acquisition is aimed to integrate patented battery software into Motive’s Integrated Operations Platform, offering operations managers precise insights into electric vehicle (EV) performance.

Motive offers services to clientele exceeding 100,000, ranging from small-scale operations to prominent corporations.

The company’s reach spans various sectors, encompassing transportation, construction, logistics, energy, manufacturing, field services, agriculture, food services, beverage industry, waste management, retail, and governmental services.
