Motive is set to bring its AI-driven solutions for driver safety and fleet management, with its new office opening in London as part of its expansion into the UK market.

The company's growth into the UK follows its adoption in North America, where it has served various industries, including construction, transportation, field services, utilities, energy, and the food and beverage sector.

Motive's UK operations will be led by regional vice president Nyanya Joof, who will be responsible for the company's regional strategy, hiring, and go-to-market execution.

Motive noted that its AI-powered platform will provide a range of benefits for UK businesses, including worker protection, safety improvements, and morale boosting.

Its “Driver Safety” solution leverages AI to identify risky behaviours, such as mobile phone use and halt sign violations, with the goal of preventing accidents.

Additionally, its “Fleet Management” solution is designed to help businesses minimise insurance premiums, lower maintenance costs, and improve fuel efficiency.

The “Workforce Management” solution provided by Motive is said to automate manual tasks like payroll, scheduling, training time tracking, and documentation.

Motive CEO and co-founder and CEO Shoaib Makani said: “We’re excited to bring that mission to the UK at a time when AI can make a meaningful difference—helping businesses reduce road collisions, lower costs, automate manual work, and accelerate the transition to more sustainable operations.

“Our platform is already delivering measurable results around the world, and we look forward to unlocking that same value for businesses in the UK.”

In July 2025, Motive raised $150m in a funding round spearheaded by Kleiner Perkins and supported by current investors along with new investor AllianceBernstein.

This funding will help fuel Motive's growth, allowing for the expansion of its AI capabilities and international scaling.

In the same month, the company introduced Positive Driving, intended to detect positive driver behaviours.

In June, it acquired software start-up InceptEV, specialising in advanced battery intelligence.
