Follows Thomas Ingenlath’s resignation

Dani Cole August 28 2024

Swedish EV maker Polestar has announced that Michael Lohscheller has been appointed as new CEO.

It comes as Thomas Ingenlath, who has served as CEO since Polestar's inception, has resigned.

Mr Lohscheller’s role will be effective as of 1 October 2024.

Polestar, which is owned by China’s Geely, builds its 4 model cars in Geely-run plants and do not operate on Volvo’s platform.

Winfried Vahland, Polestar’s incoming Chairman, said: “Michael Lohscheller is the ideal leader to guide Polestar into its next chapter.”

Michael Lohscheller said: “I look forward to working with the talented team to build on this strong foundation and accelerate our development.”

He has previously served as CEO of Stellantis-owned Opel, Vietnamese EV maker VinFast, and Nikola.
