Mazda’s global vehicle output rebounds in December

Full-year output declined by 4%, with domestic and overseas volumes lower

Japanese automaker Mazda Motor Corporation reported a 9.4% increase in global vehicle production to 99,018 units in December 2025, rebounding from a 5.2% year-on-year decline to 95,232 units in November. Production in Japan rose by 6% to 66,024 units, with CX-30 output continuing to surge – by 69% to 8,961 units, while Mazda 3 production rose by 25% to 11,207 units and CX-5 volumes were up by 6% to 26,546 units.

Overseas vehicle production rose by over 17% to 32,994 units in December after declining by 9.4% to 37,144 units in November, with CX-30 output continuing to plunge - by 33% to 6,046 units, while CX-50 output rose by 19% to 9,693 units and Mazda 2 production rebounded by 82% to 4,212 units.  

Exports from Japan fell by 4% year-on-year to 57,223 units in December, with shipments to North America dropping by 18% to 22,591 units following a 15% rise in November, while exports to Europe surged by 38% to 19,047 units after rising by 25% in the previous month.

In the whole of 2025, Mazda produced 1,156,707 vehicles globally, down by 3.7% compared with 1,201,049 units in 2024. Domestic output declined by 4.4% to 716,690 units, while overseas production fell by 2.6% to 440,017 units.

Global sales fell by 1.7% to 1,256,215 units last year, with sales in Japan rising by 5.3% to 149,481 units, while overseas sales fell by 2.5% to 1,106,734 units. US sales were 3.3% lower at 410,345 units, while sales in Europe fell by 9.5% to 158,922 units, China 74,847 units (-8%), and other markets 462,620 units (+2%).
