Japan’s Mazda Motor Corporation unveiled its new battery-powered CX-6e crossover vehicle at the 2026 Brussels Motor Show, ahead of its launch in global markets including Europe and Australia later this year.

The new SUV is the second Mazda model to be developed in collaboration with China’s Chongqing Changan Automobile Company (Changan), following the Mazda EZ-60 (6e) mid-size sedan unveiled at the Shanghai Motor Show last year.

Both models are based on Changan’s EPA1 modular platform used for its Deepal S07 and L07 models, and feature Changan’s electric powertrain and intelligent driving technologies combined with Mazda's “signature design and ‘Jinba-ittai’ (human-machine unity) driving performance.”

The Mazda CX-6e features a 78 kWh lithium-iron-phosphate (LFP) battery, providing a driving range of up to 480 km, unlike the Mazda EZ-60 which is available with 69 kWh and 80 kWh nickel-manganese-cobalt (NMC) battery packs.

The CX-6e is scheduled to be launched in Europe this summer, followed by Australia later in the year. Mazda said the EZ-60 (6e) has been well received in Europe since its launch last September, achieving cumulative sales of over 7,000 units to date.
