Li Auto Inc has unveiled a new high-end vehicle cockpit platform powered by Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 8797 Elite automotive chipset, as the Chinese battery electric vehicle (BEV) manufacturer steps up its focus on software-defined vehicles (SDVs) and in-car intelligence development.
The new platform, unveiled at the company’s Livis Day Software and Embodied Intelligence event in Beijing, uses a proprietary operating system (OS) that combines simplicity of use with intuitive interaction. The new in-house OS system allows Li Auto greater control over software integration and user experience.
Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8797 Elite automotive chipset integrates a 504K CPU, a GPU capable of 8.1 trillion operations per second, and a neural processing unit that can deliver 320 TOPS of AI computing power.
The platform supports Apple CarPlay and Android smartphones, providing seamless, broad cross-platform compatibility. Key features include allowing navigation information to be displayed directly on the vehicle’s head-up display, while entertainment functions can be controlled through steering-wheel-mounted commands. The platform comes with an expanded screen with an adaptive interface design, while in-cabin entertainment has been enhanced with a powerful surround audio system with multiple immersive zones.
An innovative feature is the platform’s real-time eye-tracking technology, which detects the direction occupants are looking and dynamically adjusts interface layouts, including information presentation, with the aim of reducing distractions and improving interaction efficiency.
