Automobili Lamborghini has launched the Urus SE, the brand’s first plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV) in the Super SUV segment, during a debut event in Oceania.

This new model features an 800CV hybrid powertrain, optimised aerodynamics, and advanced on-board technology.

The Urus SE's "two hearts," a thermal engine and an electric motor, provide the “highest” torque and power values in its class.

It features an electric torque vectoring between axles and electronic rear differential provide more torque and power at any rpm.

The redesigned twin-turbo 4.0 V8 engine operates alongside the electric powertrain, delivering 620CV (456 kW) and 800Nm of torque.

The Urus SE's battery, a 25.9-kWh lithium-ion unit, is strategically placed for balance and performance, the company said.

The electric motor, housed within the 8-speed automatic transmission, allows for a 100% electric 4WD capability, providing over 60km of EV mode range.

The Urus SE’s design enhances aerodynamic efficiency with a new floating hood and streamlined rear inspired by the Gallardo.

Improved under-body vents and air ducts increase engine cooling by 15%, while airflow for brake cooling is 30% better than the original model, the company added.

In terms of performance, the Urus SE accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.4 seconds and reaches a top speed of 312km/h.

Its design and aerodynamics have been refined to reflect the vehicle's sportiness while improving efficiency. The updated cabin features a 12.3-inch screen and new design elements that align with Lamborghini's "feel like a pilot" philosophy.

The Urus SE offers extensive customisation options, including new alloy wheels and over 100 bodywork colours. Pirelli P Zero tyres with Elect technology are standard, ensuring the vehicle's electrified features are complemented by optimal tyre performance.

Automobili Lamborghini Asia Pacific Region Director of Francesco Scardaoni said: "I am pleased to present the most powerful version of Lamborghini's Super SUV in Australia.

“The Urus SE offers unparalleled driving experience with its plug-in hybrid system, which helps to improve the vehicle’s performance and dynamics on any surface and in any condition.”
