Kia Corporation has unveiled its new EV2 battery-powered compact SUV at the 2026 Brussels Motor Show, as the South Korean automaker looks to expand its presence in the fast expanding global EV market.

The EV2 is Kia's sixth dedicated battery electric vehicle (BEV) model, featuring the company’s distinctive body design.  It comes with two battery options, 42.2 kWh and 61.0 kWh, providing a driving range of 317 km and 448 km respectively. Standard range models can be charged from 10 to 80% in 29 minutes with a fast-charging system, while for long-range models the equivalent charging time is 30 minutes.

Kia said the EV2 features “upper-segment” technologies including Front Collision Avoidance Assist 2.0, Hands-on Detection, Lane Keeping Assist 2, Highway Driving Assist 2 and Remote Smart Parking Assist. The interior features a panoramic wide display with an integrated 12.3-inch infotainment screen.

At the show, Kia also unveiled performance versions of existing models, including the EV3 GT, EV4 Hatchback GT and EV5 GT.

Kia confirmed that production of the standard-range EV2 will begin in Žilina, Slovakia, in the first quarter of 2026, followed by long-range and GT variants later in the year. The EV3 GT, EV4 Hatchback GT and EV5 GT are scheduled to enter production in South Korea in the second half of 2026.

Kia’s president and CEO, Ho Sung Song, said in a statement: “With the Kia EV2, we are expanding the reach of Kia’s electric mobility to customers who want a compact car that still feels spacious, capable and emotionally rewarding. The EV2 reflects our commitment to practical innovation — bringing advanced EV technology, thoughtful design and everyday usability into a model created for the way people live and move in cities around the world.”
