Jaguars and Fords recalled in US

I-Pace high voltage battery may overheat

Graeme Roberts September 02 2024

Jaguar Land Rover North America is recalling 2760 2019 Jaguar I-Pace vehicles because the high voltage battery may overheat.

Owners have been advised to park and charge their vehicles outside and away from structures until the recall repair is complete and for 30 days after the repair has been completed.

As an interim repair, dealers would update the battery energy control module software, free of charge - a final remedy is still currently under development. Owner notification letters were expected to be mailed on 18 October, 2024.

The NHTSA noted these vehicles were previously recalled for this same issue but would need to have the new remedy performed.

Ford valves

Separately, Ford is recalling 90,736 2021-2022 Bronco, F-150, Edge, Explorer, Lincoln Nautilus, and Lincoln Aviator vehicles equipped with either a 2.7-litre or 3.0 Nano EcoBoost engine.

The intake valves may break while driving which can result in engine failure and a loss of drive power.

Dealers will perform an engine cycle test and replace the engine as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters should be mailed on 7 October.
