Hyundai Motor Group, including the Hyundai, Genesis, and Kia brands, reported a 12% year-on-year rise in US sales to 143,367 units in September 2025, driven by a strong surge in deliveries of electrified vehicles. The company continued to ramp up production at its new plant in Savannah, in the US state of Georgia, having completed construction of the facility just over a year ago.

Last month’s strong growth came just ahead of the scheduled discontinuation of US EV tax incentives at the end of September, which were introduced by the previous Biden-led administration under the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA). The group’s battery-electric vehicle (BEV) sales surged to a monthly record of 17,269 units in September.

Hyundai Motor, including its premium Genesis brand, reported a 12.8% rise in deliveries to 77,860 units in September, including a 141% surge in BEV sales to 11,052 units. Excluding Genesis models, Hyundai’s US sales rose by 14% to 71,003 units last month, bringing its year-to-date total to 678,349 units, up by 11% year-on-year.

Hyundai’s best-selling model is the Tucson, with deliveries rising by 13% to 165,239 units year-to-date, followed by the Elantra with 116,212 units (+14%), and the Santa FE with 102,160 units (+22%). The Ioniq 5 BEV enjoyed the biggest year-on-year gain this year, up 36% to 41,091 units, while the company also sold 41,091 Ioniq 9 models, compared with none in the same period last year.

Kia reported an 11% rise in US sales to 65,507 units in September, while its year-to-date total was up by 9% to 636,148 units. The Sportage SUV remains its best-selling model with 134,102 units in the January-September period, up by 13% year-on-year, followed by the K4/Forte sedan with 107,643 units (+3%), and the Telluride with 92,498 units (+13%).
