Japanese automaker Honda Motor Company reported that its global production dropped by 34% year-on-year to 218,927 vehicles in November 2025, down from 329,978 units in the same month of the previous year, with output in Japan declining by just over 5% to 60,605 units while overseas production plunged by over 40% to 158,322 units.

The sharp deterioration in overseas output reflected mainly a 61% drop in output in North America to 53,646 units, including a 59% drop in US output to 33,186 units, while output in Asia outside Japan fell by almost 19% to 97,581 units, including a 15% decline in China to 68,284 units.

In the first eleven months of 2025, the company produced a total of 3,112,896 vehicles globally, down by 9.9% from 3,456,125 units a year earlier, with domestic output 1.3% lower at 628,385 units, while overseas production dropped by almost 12% to 2,484,511 units.

Vehicle production in Asia, excluding Japan, dropped by 18% to 988,265 units year-to-date, with output in China down by 17% to 614,088 units. Separate data released by the company shows output in Indonesia fell by 46% to 47,053 units in this period, with declines also reported in Malaysia and Thailand. Production in North America declined by 8% to 1,403,360 units, with output in the US falling by over 10% to 852,326 units.

Overall exports from Japan increased by 21% to 97,019 units in the eleven-month period, driven by an almost fourfold increase in exports to the US to 18,795 units, while exports to Europe fell by 9.5% to 40,826 units.
