Honda Motor’s upmarket brand, Acura, which is focused primarily on the North American market, has unveiled an all-new premium compact SUV - the Acura ADX. The Japanese automaker confirmed that the ADX will have a mid-US$30,000 starting price tag and will be targeted at a “new generation of buyers” with its “youthful design, engaging driving experience and turbocharged performance”.
The new SUV is scheduled to go on sale in the US in early 2025 and will feature “an upscale, tech-rich interior including the 10.2-inch Acura Precision Cockpit, a 9-inch touchscreen interface with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility and wireless charging pad” as standard equipment. Honda confirmed the model will be offered in three “well-equipped trims”: the ADX, ADX A-Spec and ADX A-Spec Advance Package.
The ADX is powered by a 1.5L turbocharged VTEC inline 4-cylinder engine and features Honda’s latest Advanced Safety and Driver Assist systems. Mike Langel, assistant vice president of US-based Acura National Sales, said “the new ADX will hit the heart of the premium compact SUV segment, which has grown significantly over the past few years."
