Ford Motor Company has announced it has hired Lucid Motors’ former Chief Financial Officer (CFO), Sherry House to replace John Lawler in early 2025.

Ms House will be Ford’s first female CFO.

In the interim, she will be vice president and oversee financial planning and analysis as well as the finance organisations for the company’s automotive businesses: Ford Blue, Ford Pro and Ford Model e.

Mr Lawler will continue in his CFO role while also being promoted to vice chair.

Both assignments are effective in early June this year.

Ford President and CEO Jim Farley said: “John is an outstanding strategic business leader and can leverage his talent and global experience to help Ford compete and win in this fast-changing and extremely competitive environment.”

He continued: “Sherry combines deep roots and a passion for the auto industry with real-world experience in investment banking, mobility and technology, including EVs and autonomy.”

Prior to joining Lucid, Ms House held several senior leadership positions at Waymo, Google’s California-based autonomous-driving technology company.

She also served two tenures at General Motors, first in product engineering, then corporate development and strategy, accounting, venture capital, and business planning and analysis.
