Japanese automotive components manufacturer Denso has announced a series of organisational and executive changes, effective January 1, 2025.

These moves align with the company’s new vision, outlined at the "DENSO DIALOG DAY 2023," to evolve from being a Tier 1 supplier focused on the automotive industry to a broader role supporting a mobility-centered society.

The company aims to maximize value not just within the automotive sector, but across the entire mobility ecosystem.

Denso’s transformation plan centres on three main challenges: "evolution of mobility," "strengthening of foundational technology," and "creation of new value."

To drive these objectives forward, Denso has made adjustments to both its organisational structure and executive leadership.

A new "Electric Sora-Mobi Business Promotion Department" will be established within the Electrification Business Group to focus on advancing electric propulsion for aerial mobility.

This department will drive the company’s ambitions in future mass production, incorporating cutting-edge development, production technology, and quality assurance.

The inverter business will undergo a restructuring as Denso aims to strengthen its lineup of electric drive systems and components across a wide range of electric mobility platforms, including HEVs, PHEVs, BEVs, and FCEVs.

To enhance its capabilities, the module and power card divisions within Advanced Devices Business Group will be consolidated with the Electrification Business Group.

Denso will also create a new "CX Center Department" by merging the UX Innovation Centre within the Mobility Electronics Business Group and human research functions within the Research and Development Centre.

This new department will focus on creating innovative user and customer experiences (UX and CX) in alignment with a more connected and integrated mobility society.

A new "Hydrogen Business Development Division" will be established to capitalise on Denso’s expertise in thermal management and advanced material technologies.

This division will focus on fostering connections across hydrogen industries and contribute to achieving a carbon-neutral future.

In the realm of executive leadership, Yasuhiko Yamazaki has been promoted from senior executive officer to executive vice president.

Yukihiro Shinohara is retiring from his position as executive vice president, the company announced.

Katsuhiko Takeuchi has been appointed as the senior executive officer previously served as senior director.

Yasuhisa Sakurai has also been appointed as senior executive officer, transitioning from his senior director role.
