DAF Components is introducing a new series of PACCAR MX-11 and PACCAR MX-13 engines for coaches and buses, it has announced.
The new generation PACCAR MX-11 and MX-13 engines are based on the power units recently introduced by DAF for the XD, XF, XG and XG+ truck series. These engines are available for coach and bus applications, and can run on HVO biodiesel.
DAF Components says the chassis is under development and is based on the platform of the zero emission DAF XB Electric city distribution truck.
Alfred Beuwer, Director DAF Components said: “There is an increasing interest from coach and bus operators for alternative powertrains. Whatever the future of coach and bus transport will look like, DAF Components will continue to offer its customers the ultimate powertrain solutions, tailored to every application.”
Earlier this year, DAF Components opened a new electric truck assembly plant in Eindhoven, the Netherlands. The facility produces its latest generation of battery electric trucks, DAF XD and XF, powered by PACCAR e-Motors and equipped with battery packs of 2 up to 5 strings (210 to 525 kWh).
The PACCAR MX-11 and PACCAR MX-13 engines will be shown for the first time at Busworld 2023, in Belgium.
