BYD Seal launches in Nepal

BYD first entered Nepalese passenger car market in 2022

Dani Cole February 15 2024

BYD has launched its Seal model in Nepal.

It is in collaboration with its local authorised distributor Cimex Inc. Pvt Ltd.

The car will be available in three versions (Dynamic, Premium, and Performance) and four standard colours.

The EV maker says this is the third pure electric passenger vehicle BYD launched in Nepal, after the BYD Atto 3 and the BYD Dolphin.

In 2018, BYD’s e6 model was incorporated into the Nepalese presidential fleet, with entry into the passenger market in 2022.

The local government is currently implementing various measures to promote electric vehicles, leveraging the country's abundant hydropower resources.

Aiming for a transition to electric transportation, the government plans to build an additional 500 charging stations along major highways and urban areas. In response to the growing demand for green transportation, BYD says it will continue to introduce new energy vehicles tailored to local market needs
