Ansys, a unit of Synopsys, has entered into an agreement with Nvidia to incorporate Nvidia Omniverse technology into its autonomous vehicle simulation solutions.

This integration will commence with Ansys' computational fluid dynamics (CFD) and autonomous vehicle solutions, providing customers with direct access to Omniverse's technologies as well as libraries.

The collaboration aims to enhance the understanding of vehicle aerodynamics, improve autonomous vehicle safety, and contribute to the development of 6G connectivity.

The technology of Ansys leverages Universal Scene Description (OpenUSD) for integration with Omniverse, facilitating accessible workflows across various simulation applications.

The agreement also makes sure that diverse computer-aided engineering (CAE) tools can work together, providing a unified workflow essential for large-scale CFD applications.

Engineers will benefit from the ability to visualise fluid dynamics in realistic digital environments, which aids in the intuitive analysis of complex data and accelerates the design optimisation process.

Furthermore, the integration provides “high-fidelity outputs” that streamline the development, training, testing, and validation of autonomous systems, enhancing their reliability and safety.

Additionally, PyAnsys, a suite of Python packages, offers users the flexibility to customise and automate simulations within their applications built on Nvidia Omniverse, noted Ansys.

In March 2025, Magna, a mobility technology company, announced a partnership with Nvidia to create AI-driven solutions for the next generation of software-defined vehicles, focusing on intelligence and autonomy.
