Amazon said it now has 10,000 Rivian electric delivery vehicles in its US fleet. The announcement was made during a business presentation earlier this week.
The delivery firm partnered with the EV maker and aims to have at least 100,000 electric delivery vans on the road in 2030.
In 2019, Amazon co-founded the Climate Pledge in 2019, with a target of achieving net zero carbon by 2040. In 2022, Volvo said it would give 20 EV trucks to Amazon.
Amazon’s 10,000 milestone comes after Rivian raised its production forecast for the 2023 full year to 52,000 vehicles, Reuters reports.
Earlier this month Rivian said it planned to raise $1.5 billion in private placement of convertible bonds due 2030.
