McLaren names smart tooling supplier

New technology has been been integrated into devices and operating systems

McLaren Automotive said it had selected Atlas Copco, which provides assembly tooling and software as its official smart tooling supplier.

McLaren has worked with Atlas Copco product specialists to enhance its manufacturing and engineering operations).

Across the production line, new technology has been been integrated into devices and operating systems, enabling integration with existing production infrastructure, the automaker said.

Matt Walton, chief manufacturing officer, said: “The collaboration between McLaren and Atlas Copco has proven instrumental in the rapid advancement of our production capabilities.”

McLaren has also deployed 150 of Atlas Copco’s battery powered digital tools.
