
UK Export Finance (UKEF) has granted Northern Ireland bus manufacturer Wrightbus a financing package of GBP50m.
That followed a 2022 announcement of government assistance of GBP26m.
Wrightbus will now fulfil orders from new markets in Germany and North America as well as expand its presence in Singapore and Hong Kong.
In 2022, the bus manufacturer generated 27% of its revenue from exports and aims to increase this by 20% by the end of 2023.
The Ballymena based company plans to double its workforce by 2026, creating 1,000 new jobs.
Wrightbus claimed to operate the largest hydrogen fleet in the UK with 100 buses already in service.

By GlobalDataBy the end of 2023, it expects to have delivered 600 buses, up from 450 in 2022.
Under the Export Development Guarantee, UKEF would guarantee 80% of the loan provided by Barclays Bank.
