A World War II bomb discovered near Tesla’s factory outside of Berlin would be detonated in a controlled manner this weekend, local media reported.
The 250kg bomb had been found in the forest next to the EV maker’s plant in Gruenheide.
It was the latest dramatic incident this year for the factory, which in March this year had been forced to halt production after being targeted by arsonists who had set fire to a nearby electricity pylon.
Since the end of February, climate activists, including one group which calls themselves Robin Wood, have set up a camp in the forest to protest against the expansion which would double the 500,000 vehicles the factory makes in a year.
