The first event will be held on 21 November 2002 at Deeside College, Deeside, Flintshire. Deeside College is renowned for its expertise in the automotive industry and offers a number of vocational courses for students who wish to enter the industry.

Speaking at the event will be deputy principal of the college David Jones, who will be sharing some of his insights into the industry and its current status.

Further business breakfast events are planned all over Wales. The next event will discuss ‘Digital design technology in the automotive industry’ and will be held on 3 December 2002 at the Calsonic Kansai Technology Centre, Llanelli.
WAF chief executive Tim Williams said: “The business breakfasts will be used to communicate the work we do in Wales, the UK and on an international level to members and potential members alike. The meetings will form an integral part of the WAF’s mechanism for information dissemination and networking and will cover issues such as best practice within the automotive industry”.

The Welsh Automotive Forum is an independent company that provides a unified voice. ‘Industry led, industry driven’, the forum has been created to help continually build and improve the automotive industry in Wales and is currently worth more than £2 billion a year and employees over 25,000 people. It is these people as members or potential members that the WAF aims to represent and provide a platform for their views on the industry.

The breakfasts are free for WAF members and £25 for non-members.
