Volkswagen says it will hold a press conference tomorrow (10 December) with an update on the diesel emissions scandal, which has rocked the German automaker for the past few months.

The manufacturer has been engulfed by a global storm since news of the emissions irregularities broke, with demand for its 12 brands plunging, down 25% in the US alone last month.

Separately, Volkswagen adds its long-standing head of brand communications, Peter Thul is to leave the group “by amicable agreement” after 11 years.

His successor is to be former managing editor at group communications, Stefan Ohletz, who joined Volkswagen in 1998.
