Volkswagen has delayed the launch of a new ID.4 from its Trinity EV project to the early 2030s, Reuters reported, citing a souce.

The delay was part of “reshuffling plans”.

Under the Trinity project, VW was due to release the new ID.4 and another electric SUV using its new SSP platform, conceived by former CEO Herbert Diess, which was intended to unite the group’s EV platforms.

The project was due to launch a vehicle in 2026 but was delayed by current CEO Oliver Blume due to software problems.
