Vitesco Technologies has become an independent member of the RE100 alliance.
The global initiative with more than 300 member companies worldwide is committed to 100% renewable electricity.
“As part of our Direction 2030 strategy, we at Vitesco Technologies are pursuing the goal of climate-neutral production by 2030,” said Vitesco SVP Operations, Hans-Jürgen Braun.
“Our membership in the RE100 alliance is of central importance to us in this regard. Since 2020, all of our production sites worldwide have been sourcing 100% electricity from renewable energy sources. This has already enabled us to reduce direct and indirect CO2 emissions for our operational activities by almost 90%.”
For his part, Vitesco head of Environmental Protection, Christoph Seifert, added: “The switch to green power is an important milestone in our decarbonisation efforts and part of our environmental strategy and sustainability agenda.
“Further steps towards completely climate-neutral production at Vitesco Technologies include increased energy efficiency and corresponding certification of the sites as well as [our] own photovoltaic systems.
