The
Chrysler Grand Caravan LX minivan just launched in Venezuela is imported from
DaimlerChrysler’s Austrian assembly plant rather than North America, daily El
Nacional reported.

D-C hopes to sell between 15 and 20 units per month of the fourth-generation
3.3-litre model on the Venezuelan market, El Nacional said, and regain segment
leadership from Ford’s Windstar.

The Grand Caravan has sold 1,300 units in Venezuela since a previous generation
model was launched in 1992. The new Jeep Cherokee (Liberty) will be introduced
in a few months, the newspaper added.
