Mitsubishi’s subsidiary in Venezuela, MMC Automotriz, has suspended operations for a month due to a delay in importing parts for assembly.
Union official Jahaziel Bolivar told Reuters: “We’re waiting for materials to arrive.”
He added the materials were held up at a port in western Venezuela.
Automakers have made several complaints that bureaucratic processes and the government’s complicated currency controls have slowed down imports of essential products.
