Volkswagen of America is extending the warranty on 2002 models with to four-years
or 50,000 miles bumper-to-bumper cover, up from two years/24,000 miles.

The new warranty covers wear-and-tear items and adjustments for the first year
or 12,000 miles.

Volkswagen will also now offer a fully transferable limited powertrain warranty
of five years or 60,000 miles. This was previously 10 years/100,000 miles, but
transferable only from the original retail owner to a family member.

The new warranty also includes a four-year/50,000 mile, 24-hour roadside assistance
programme, increased from the previous two-year term.

Corrosion perforation coverage remains at 12 years with no mileage limit for
all fully-galvanized Volkswagen vehicles.
