VW Credit, Inc. announced today it is expanding its western operations by opening a new Service Center facility in Portland, Ore. The new facility is located at 22823 NW Bennet Road in Hillsboro, OR.
The new Automotive Service Center in Portland will provide full service to 13 western states, including Credit and Funding, Customer Care and Collections. The Center will support the continued growth of the automotive business and the resulting growth in the portfolio of VW Credit by better accommodating western dealer operations later in the business day and providing enhanced services to retail and lease customers.

The building contains 44,407 sq. ft. and will also serve as a disaster recovery site for VW for the US and Canada, with uninterrupted computer service in the event of a natural disaster or prolonged power outage. The building will open officially on November 6, 2000 with 50 employees. VW Credit Inc. plans to expand to 70 people by the end of the year and add an additional 25 after the first of the year. The project has ultimately planned for 218 employees.
Patrick Clifford, Center Manager, stated, “The real motivator for this expansion to the Portland area was to be able to offer an increased level of service to the Volkswagen and Audi dealers in the western states. The bonus for those of us relocating here is the tremendous quality of life that the Pacific Northwest offers.”
