Visteon reportedly said on Friday it had agreed to sell its auto parts assembly operation in Chicago to Plastech Engineered Products, a Visteon supplier based in Dearborn, Michigan.

According to Reuters, Visteon said the 270 employees at the assembly operation will be offered jobs with Plastech, which has a facility adjacent to the one to be purchased.
The sale, which is subject to certain conditions, is expected to be completed by September 30, Visteon reportedly said.
The 215,000-square-foot Visteon facility does final assembly of parts for Ford’s new vehicles – Freestyle, Five Hundred and Mercury Montego, Reuters noted.
