TRW Automotive Holdings has reported first-quarter 2005 sales of $US3.2 billion, a year-on-year increase of 10%, while net earnings were $50 million or $0.50 per share, compared to $2 million or $0.02 per share a year ago.

“Despite continuing tough industry conditions and developments, our first quarter results from operations were in line with our expectations,” said John Plant, president and chief executive officer.
Q1 operating income was $155 million, a year on year increase of $2 million. This was due largely to higher sales and cost savings. Restructuring expenses in the first quarter of 2005 were $8 million, compared to $5 million a year ago.
