Toyota Motor Sales USA has appointed Jose Luis Sanchez Andion as managing director
of Toyota Motor Sales de Mexico S. de R.L. de C.V., the company established in
May to begin planning sales, marketing and service operations in the South American
country.

Sanchez Andion will be in charge of implementing Toyota’s business plans in Mexico
and will report directly to TMS in Torrance, California.

"Toyota’s world policy is to place greater responsibility for operations
with local management," said TMS president and CEO Yoshimi Inaba.

"The appointment of Jose Luis Sanchez Andion demonstrates the confidence
Toyota has in the market as well as in the ability and leadership of Mexican executives."

Toyota Motor Sales de Mexico was established to sell vehicles in anticipation
of the full implementation of the automotive sector agreements included in the
North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA).

Such agreements will take effect on January 1, 2004.

In his new position, Sanchez Andion will be responsible for defining the model
range, establishing a dealer network and service centres, and other logistics
issues in preparation for the formal launch of the company’s operations.

Sanchez Andion has wide experience in the Mexican automotive industry, especially
in the operational and sales areas.

He held several managerial positions in Camiones y Motores Internacional de Mexico,
S.A., Chrysler de Mexico, S.A. and Agromotores y Camiones, S.A.

He also has worked as an independent consultant in the automotive sector.
