The paper said Brian Miller, formerly vice president of marketing, has resigned “for personal reasons”, after only four months at the South Korean-owned car maker, officially resigning on September 30.

Miller is to become head of marketing for all Continental AG operations in the United States, including Teves, Timik and Tyre, Automotive News said.

The paper noted that, before joining Hyundai, the 48-year-old Miller was director of marketing for Continental Automotive Systems North America in Auburn Hills, Michigan, a supplier of brake and chassis systems, and, from 1977 to 2001, previously worked for Ford.

Automotive News said Miller’s departure came shortly after the resignation of CEO Finbarr O’Neill in September, who left to take the top spot at Mitsubishi Motor Sales of America while, abruptly after that, Michael Tocci, general manager of Hyundai’s Eastern region, joined O’Neill at Mitsubishi as senior vice president of sales, distribution and fleet.

Automotive News said that, although none of those who left have commented about their reasons for leaving, insiders say top American executives are becoming increasingly frustrated with the dictatorial meddling from the South Korean parent company.
