Faced with slowing sales and a vehicle line-up that is solely car based, Saturn are understandably ready to branch out into crossover vehicles since this year’s Detroit auto show. Yesterday, the company made their wish come true, by releasing the first sketches of their upcoming crossover sport-ute, coming in the early fall of 2001.

The Saturn will be a compact package, offering both four-cylinder and V-6 engines, front-wheel drive or four-wheel drive, and plastic body panels. Production for the 2002 model should start around September, 2001.
