Developed completely in-house, the EDCM is claimed to be the only control module produced by a single company that designs and manufactures many of the components it controls.
The EDCM integrates electronic control functions previously found in two separate products into a single module. It assumes control of the window operation, including express up and down function, anti-squeeze sensing and prevention, and comfort closing capabilities.
It also controls functionality for the electric, moveable, memory, heated and fold-away rearview mirror, as well as the indicator and courtesy lights.
Additionally, the EDCM has been designed to allow future integration of latch electronics including lock, unlock, child locking, and hands-free or electric-release operation.
