The stylish new car, bigger and much more powerful than its predecessor, has
received excellent reviews from automotive journalists.

“This Altima writes a new chapter for Nissan sedans, and we believe it
will be a showstopper,” said a senior vice president of Nissan U.S. Manufacturing,
Dan Gaudette.

The new Altima offers 2.5-litre four-cylinder or 3.5-litre V6 power and increases
in all major dimensions, including a wheelbase hiked 7.1 inches to 110.2 inches,
allowing a much roomier cabin.

The first Altima was built in Smyrna on June 11, 1992, and to date the plant
has produced 1,389,355 units.

Nissan plans to increase sales to approximately 190,000 units on an annual
basis when the new model goes on sale in September.
