Mazda US expects a sales surge of about 10% this year thanks to well received new models.
The president and chief executive of Mazda North American Operations, Jim O’Sullivan, said the increase would come from the new 3 compact car, as well as variations of the 6 midsize car and updates to older models, such as a refresh of the Tribute sport utility, according to Reuters.

Mazda January sales were reportedly up 20% from the same month a year ago, driven by strong demand for the 3.
“The 3 is really selling the whole showroom,” O’Sullivan told Reuters at the Chicago motor show.
Reuters noted that Mazda, one-third owned by Ford, has struggled to make money in North America, but its new models have been well-received in Europe, where it is now the fastest-growing brand.
