Mazda North American Operations (MNAO) today announced it is voluntarily recalling some 1999-model-year Miata roadsters for replacement of the non-return valve in the vehicle’s fuel filler pipe.

Mazda has found that certain 1999-model Miatas may have a sticking non-return valve in the fuel filler pipe. This can cause the gas pump nozzle to repeatedly shut off and there is a possibility that fuel may overflow and/or spit back when refueling.
