CSM Worldwide has announced that Luis F. Martinez has joined the company as South American forecast manager. Martinez will lead the sales and forecasting operations of the CSM office in Sao Paulo, Brazil, and concentrate on providing South American vehicle production analysis and forecasts to CSM clients.
Prior to joining CSM, Martinez worked as a senior economist for General Motors, and launched the Latin American Automotive Service for Standard & Poor’s DRI. Martinez has specialised in automotive international operations, competitive intelligence and government policy in emerging markets. He also directed research and consulting projects in areas such as trade integration and portfolio optimisation.

Before working in the US, Martinez was chief economist at DaimlerChrysler in Mexico, spent several years teaching business economics at the US International University in Mexico City, and worked as commercial counsellor at the Mexican Embassy in Canada during NAFTA negotiations.
Martinez holds an MA in International Economics from McGill University in Montreal, and a BA in Economics from ITAM University in Mexico City.
