Johnson Controls said today that it had reached a settlement with the United Auto Workers on issues that had resulted in strikes, production stoppages or pickets at four automotive component plants in Shreveport, Louisiana; Northwood, Ohio; Earth City, Missouri and Oklahoma City, Oklahoma on June 11.

Subsequently, UAW Region 5 Director Jim Wells confirmed that a tentative agreement had been reached and urged workers to return to work immediately today on their regular shift so that “production could resume as soon as possible”.

Details of the new agreement will be provided to the affected workers prior to ratification meetings, the UAW said.
