The International Engineering Consortium today announced the addition of an Electronic Design Automation (EDA) Executive Council to its current roster of councils that provide insight, industry knowledge, and planning assistance to the Consortium’s many information-industry forums.

Currently, the semiconductor and EDA industries lack a forum for presenting new information and technological advancements to the design-engineering community. With the Council’s direction, the IEC will provide a strong venue to present design tools and solutions for the electronic-engineering community. The annual, industry-leading DesignCon conference, held in the Silicon Valley, enables the display of design-engineering tools, solutions, and technology. Attendees of the conference come from the computer, semiconductor, communications, consumer electronics, automotive, aerospace, medical, controls, and test and measurement industries.

“Throughout its history the International Engineering Consortium has benefited from the leadership of individuals such as those who comprise our EDA Council,” asserts Tom Costello, Senior Director, International Engineering Consortium. “Without their support, the IEC would not be able to provide its timely and relevant programming to industry and academia.” The next event, DesignCon 2001, will be held from January 29 to February 1, 2001, at the Santa Clara Convention Center, Santa Clara, California.
