Independent engine and powertrain systems research, design and development company FEV Engine Technology has expanded its Detroit-area facilities with the addition of two new powertrain test sites at the company’s North American headquarters in Auburn Hills, Michigan.

The two test areas bring to 18 the total number of fully instrumented engine-development sites.
Following an investment of more than $US2 million, the new sites are fully equipped to conduct engine performance, fuel economy, mechanical and emissions-development testing for diesel, petrol and alternative-fuel powertrains.
The test equipment for the new test sites was provided by FEV Test Systems, a provider of turnkey, integrated, powertrain test equipment. The fully instrumented engine dynamometer cells are equipped with the latest hardware and software.
