This will be the fifth of seven all-new or redesigned vehicles offered by Hyundai in a new product blitz that started in October 2004 with the Tucson SUV. The Entourage will reach US dealers in the spring of 2006 as an ’07 model year vehicle.

The Entourage, spun off the redesigned Kia Sedona minivan due out late this year –  will take Hyundai into the US minivan segment for the first time. It already offers a four-cylinder petrol or diesel engine powered seven-seater called the Trajet here in the UK but that model would be regarded as too small by US consumers.

Standard Entourage equipment will include electronic stability control with traction control, ABS with EBD, six airbags including side curtain airbags for all three rows of passengers and front active head restraints that protect against whiplash.

The Entourage will be offered in a long-wheel base version only, and will be powered by the new 3.8litre V6 engine used in the Azera premium sedan.
