GM is the last of the Big Three to complete the bargaining process, AP noted, adding that the signing ceremony took place at the UAW-GM Centre for Human Resources, where GM and the union negotiated. Gettelfinger and Wagoner smiled and shook hands, but neither spoke to reporters, the report added.

Ford and DaimlerChrysler’s Chrysler Group had previously ratified and signed new agreements reached in mid-September after months of bargaining, AP said, adding that the new contracts also cover UAW members at automotive parts suppliers Delphi Corp. and Visteon Corp.

In total, the four-year deals cover more than 300,000 automotive workers across the country and another half-million retirees and their spouses, Associated Press said.
