McKenzie served in a variety of management positions with MMNA from 1982 to 2001, including vice president, product support; vice president, product engineering and quality assurance; vice president, service and engineering; and vice president, service and customer management.
“I’m confident Dave will make an immediate impact on the continued revitalisation of our brand,” said MMNA CEO Rich Gilligan. “He is familiar with our employees, dealers, and procedures, and is well aware of the challenges we face.”
McKenzie replaces Chuck Halper, who has left the company.
MMNA has had many senior management changes in the last year as it restructures following financial losses due, in part, to defaults on auto loans made to ‘sub-prime’ customers during a poorly-conceived sales campaign instigated by now-departed executives.
For the six months to 30 June, its sales were down 35.3% year on year to 66,133 units, according to WardsAuto.com data.
