USA: Ford widens Escape recall to include Mazda Tribute clones

In a letter to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, Ford reportedly said the recall covered some Mazdas built between May 30, 2001 and December 19, 2003.
Some vehicles may have a problem with the accelerator cable that prevents the engine from returning to idle, which could result in a crash, the report said, adding that most of the recalled vehicles are in the US.
